HOW CAN I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
Right now I am not taking new clients and am backed up due to COVID. In the future, you can fill out this Questionnaire and email it to me. Then I will call and we will schedule your first appointment!
WHAT ARE YOUR PRICES?
I believe in full transparency. Prices generally fall into three categories depending on amount of hair (density) and length. First appointments start at $288 (gratuity and new client fee $74 included) with full education and are approximately over 2 hours long. After the first appointment, you can opt for just a dry cut (without the cleanse and dry) which is less time and therefore less money. Please see New Client Appointments for more information.
WHY DO YOU INCLUDE THE TIP?
I found that tipping was always awkward for my clients. They never knew what was appropriate, sometimes they would ask me and it also took time at the end of the service. With the gratuity built in, it is an extremely clear way to conduct business and I am seen as the professional that I am. My clients say they love it.
WHY SHOULD I GO TO YOU?
I am precise, focused and detail-oriented. I do not start to cut your hair until we are in agreement on how much I will take off, what the length will be and what the style will look like on your hair texture and curl type. Your satisfaction and joy is what I thrive on. Because I have had several decades of experience as a stylist, I am finely tuned into your needs as a woman in this culture with curly hair.
You should also go to me if you prefer a calming one-on-one environment.. The colors are subdued and the music is in the background.
HOW DO I WEAR MY HAIR WHEN I SEE YOU?
Please come with hair dry, down and curly.
Please no tangles because I don't use a comb just fingers.
Please have your hair washed within two days.
Please no products and rinse conditioner thoroughly.
Please do not use elastic bands, clips or bobby pins.
Please no pony tails, braids or half ups.
HOW WILL I REMEMBER EVERYTHING WE WENT OVER?
You will receive a brochure with the specific products and amounts for your hair. This will also explain the specific techniques I used on you to achieve your look. We will go over it to make sure your questions are answers. For your convenience, I also sell the products used on you and my prices are generally lower than a small beauty store. If you do like a product I used on you, you can also directly order through my Curl Shop. Please note that you won't remember everything because it is a learning experience and a practice.
DO I HAVE TO BUY YOUR PRODUCTS WHEN I HAVE MY OWN?
I use and promote pure, safe, organic and small-batched products with owners I personally know and respect. My values and ethics are aligned with sustainable businesses. You do not have to buy from me but it does support a female-owned small business. You also might not have the results that I achieve since these products are specifically picked out for your hair texture.
HOW OFTEN DO I NEED MY HAIR CUT?
I recommend having your next haircut in 3 - 4 months. Straight and curly hair both grow approximately 6 inches per year. The difference is the curlier the hair, the less that length shows. It really depends on the length of your hair, how damaged it is and how much volume (fullness) you like to achieve. At your appointment, I will be able to determine the best interval for your haircuts.
HOW CAN I MAKE A SECOND APPOINTMENT?
Booking your next appointment is easy and there is no waiting this time! You will already have a profile set up so we can book you right after your first haircut or you can do it later. Book at your own convenience on a browser or if you have a phone or tablet/iPad, it's easier to use my scheduling system's app. Simply go to this site, click on Appointments in the menu bar, then click on the button that reads Existing Clients, Then a calendar with dates and times will open up for you to choose. You will also need to create a password.
HOW ARE YOU PROTECTING ME FROM COVID-19?
After the service and before yours, all surfaces, scissors and clips will be sterilized. All disinfectants have been approved by the EPA and OSHA. I have also completed an online COVID-19 Certification Course by BARBICIDE®, the salon industry's foremost disinfectant. For your information, I am fully vaccinated.
CAN YOU COLOR MY HAIR TOO?
These days my sole focus is on cutting. I do have referrals for colorists and am happy to give you their information at your appointment!
